"There are some who can live without wild things, and some who cannot." - Aldo Leopold
I cannot. Each of us has a way to give back, to be part of something grander and more persistent than our own existence. We are not, echoing the words of intellectuals, insignificant specks in time and place. Our actions have consequences. As we chose our actions, we also chose those consequences. Our Earth can heal if we embrace conservation. In 1949, Leopold wrote "A thing is right when it tends to preserve the integrity, the stability, and beauty of the biotic community. It is wrong when it tends otherwise". In 2020, it is still wrong. And amid the sixth mass extinction, stewardship is more critical than ever. Ten percent of proceeds earned from all work sold on this page will be donated to COTERC and Arc of Appalachia, organizations that have demonstrated a commitment to healing and preserving the biosphere.
